The Environmental Public Health Division inspects and reviews mobile home community plans to ensure that they are safe and have the proper water and sewage systems. Indiana has more than 1,112 mobile-home communities. Every one of these communities must be licensed. Each license is valid for a period of four years. There are additional licensing requirements in some states for contractors who work on manufactured homes.

A mobile home cannot be placed on a construction site unless the ground beneath it is compacted enough. In order to be allowed on a building site, the home must adhere to the Uniform Building Code. Also, the park owner must ensure that a proper foundation is provided for the mobile home, and adequate drainage. Once this is done, the mobile home contractor can inspect and make recommendations to the owner.

Before hiring a contractor, find out about his communication style. Some contractors like to communicate through email while others prefer to meet with clients on-site every week. Licensed contractors tend to view mobile homes as low-income properties. Mobile home owners may avoid the work out of fear that they will not be paid as much as single-family homes. How do I replace a damaged window?

The most common home improvement task is to replace broken windows. The job involves repairing the damage done to the glass in your home. The repair should take approximately 30 minutes. However, if you are not familiar with how to replace broken panes of glass, you may cause further damage to the home. This article contains some tips to help you replace a damaged window.

First, take the old glasses out of their frames

First, take out all the screws that are holding the glass in place. Next, take out the lock at top center of the window frame's bottom section. Next, raise the window so it isn't attached to the sillplate (the metal strip below the floor). Finally, use a pry tool to carefully loosen the remaining screws until they pop out of their holes. After the panes have been removed from the window, clean them well.

Second step: Clean the new glass

Use a dry cloth or paper towel to wipe away any dirt from the surface of the glass. Use a spray bottle with water and alcohol to clean any debris that has gotten under the glass.

Third Step: Reinstall the replacement glass

Then, attach the window panes back into the frames. With the tip of a screwdriver, push down on the bottom edge of the outermost window pane. Gently push your pane back into its opening. Move on to the next piece of pane. Push it into the opening in the frame. Continue inserting the panes until the entire window is assembled. To seal the area where the panes meet, use a silicone caulk gun.

Fourth Step: Repair the area damaged

Before installing the new glass, make sure to inspect the area around any cracks. Two small pieces of wood should be placed along the edges of each hole if the crack is near the corner. These wooden blocks will give strength to the window and act as spacers between the glass and the weatherproofing material.

The fifth step is to seal the area.

After the glass has had to be replaced, apply silicone caulking at the perimeter edges. This will create a strong seal between glass and surrounding wallboard. You can find silicone caulking in hardware stores and online. Be sure to choose a color that matches the existing paint on the walls.

Finally, let the caulking cure overnight. Do not disturb the caulking until it has hardened completely. You may crack the caulking by not waiting long enough.
